North Korea and the United States have committed themselves to the complete removal of nuclear weapons from the Korean Peninsula, while Washington has called for security guarantees from Pyongyang.
This stems from a joint statement signed today at Singapore’s Donald Trump White House Chief and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un. The US president confirmed the statements of the main authorities at his press conference after the summit.
Washington and Pyongyang also agreed on the summit to find, identify and repatriate fallen during the Korean Peninsula War in the 1950s. The text states that Trump and Kim had a detailed and frank conversation to establish new US-North Korean relations and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
“President Trump has pledged to provide the DPRK with security guarantees and President Kim has reiterated his firm and unwavering commitment to complete nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula,” the statement said. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the document signed by Trump and Kim as historic and the beginning of new relationships.
This kind of statement and positive result of the summit could cause rise on the financial market. What critics say, in the deal, there are no dates, which can guarantee of filling the promises.
